New Rolling Stone Feature on Gym Class Heroes
RollingStone.com recently published an article on Gym Class Heroes after chatting with them at the Bamboozle Festival. The article is headed by a couple of nice photos with Busta and Travie side-by-site. It was posted online on May 6th and features some information on the upcoming Gym Class Heroes album, though nothing I would have exactly stopped the presses for. Author Erica Futterman talked with Travie about his collaborations with Busta Rhymes and Daryl Hall. What’s cool is apparently Busta will be appearing on one of the tracks produced by Cool and Dre, and as soon as he heard the instrumental to the track over the speakerphone Busta came down to Miami immediately to record a verse. The track featuring Busta will be called “Peace Sign” and, as Travie is quoted in the article, he says it sounds like some older ’95-era Busta Bust from back in the day. Still, Busta Rhymes in my opinion is one of those dudes who is still as consistently hot today as he was over ten years ago when I first started listening to him as well. Travie also talks about Daryl Hall’s track which is called “Live Forever” and is about Travis’ cousin who committed suicide last November. And, as it says in the article, Travie says that while some of the songs have somewhat of a melancholy or darker undertone, the entire album is certainly not alike. There is also a bit more info on the album as well as their recent college touring.
